Stuck in park
The truck won't disengage from park. I can shift fine, the reverse lights come on when in reverse and I can switch to 4x4 lo when in neutral but the truck won't move. It's not the blown fuse issue unless there's another one other than the shift lock actuator that can be causing this.
I've been having this problem for a while where if I put it in reverse I would have to wait a few seconds for it to engage then it would be fine. Same with starting out in drive. I've been able to force it to switch over by revving as well (probably making the issue what it is now--worse).
But now if I rev there is a slight nudge in movement but it won't do no more than that. I don't know if it is relevant but I've had trouble at redlights trying to accelerate on green. Do I have a bad tranny? Or is this hopefully an easier fix? A brake issue perhaps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit:
I just tested this and I am able to push the truck while in neutral. So the parking brake is disengaging. Any ideas why I can't drive my truck? Thank you.
As ArmamentDawg asked, have you checked the tranny linkage to the TRS & the wiring to it, to make sure all is well there?
Have you checked the tranny fluid level at idle, on level ground, after shifting into All gears, ending in "N" or "P", to make sure fluid is on the dipstick? Checked cold it should be toward the lower end of the range marks & when fully warmed up, at the upper mark, but not under, or over filled. It shouldn't be aerated, smell burned, or feel gritty or thick, or sticky & be a thin, clear pink/red color.
If the fluid level & condition seem ok, have you checked line pressure, if low, it can cause this kind of problem.
How many miles on the tranny & when last was the fluid & filter changed & does it have the specified Mercon-V fluid in it?
If all that is ok, borrow, or come by a ELM scan tool running FORScan diagnostic software on the viewing device of your choice as discussed here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-scantool.html as this inexpensive but very powerful diagnostic combo can query All of the vehicle computer/controllers & live sensor PID feeds, for trouble code clues, or out of spec PID feeds to the computer/controllers, then post up All code Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot.
