There's really not a whole lot you can learn from the numbers you don't already know just by looking at the truck. Your serial number breaks down as
MD=M47 1/2 ton
83=pickup
N= assembly plant code, not certain but most trucks in Canada then were built in Windsor, Ont.
50=1950 model year
20221=consecutive unit number
There were only a half dozen or so paint choices, so if you look close enough that should be obvious
I think most all trucks had the same interior
The rest of the numbers have lost significance over time.
Hi Moose, I have almost the same look on my interior. The Canadian colors don't quite match up to the US listings and it is hard to find. What seemed to be the closest to mine was GlenMist Green, but I couldn't find a local source that could match the codes I found.
I like your truck. I am leaning towards doing the similar, but doing interior at this time and leaving engine bay original, but painting up the motor/rad/trans. You have a better starting point than me.

learned over the years that buying junk is harder.
I could have bought one for less but someone had stole all the stainless. Searched 3 years for a tailgate and stainless fender pieces.
