Changing tire size and fixing it up

Little history on my 02 gold ranger XLT 3.0. Added a few items to the truck, installed a solid receiver, turn signal lights under the ranger logo chrome w/amber leds, put led light under hood for night time, front and rear Led daytime running lights, put brighter dash lights tried using led lights looked grappy, installed a led volt meter just under the dash and put larger alternator from a F150 fit snug, led dome lights nice an bright, Tool box with extra marine battery in it for win I go fishing stays charged and made a bed vinyl cover w/metal backing used lift gate shocks from a bronco to lift the bed cover and put a lockable latch that hooks into the tale gate so neither can be opened. Just trying to fix it up some plan on keeping it for a long time.

Looking to put 265/75R15 tires on any issues with rubbing when turning. Wanted to raise it a little, currently running 235/70R15 on it now. Also looking to change my fuel injectors to 4 hole, any recommendations.

What gear ratio does the truck have? That is nearly a 10% increase in size which could be good for fuel milage if it has 4.10 gears but would have the opposite effect if it has numerically lower ratio. I don't think you will have any rubbing issues.

Unless you have injector problems this falls under the don't fix what ain't broke category.

Those tires will fit fine if you have a 4x4. If it is a 2WD, there will be some rubbing and the tires might stick out slightly from the fenders since there are no add on fender flares on 2WD.

Fixing up ranger

Thanks for the advice:

I have a 2wd, would a narrower 265/70R15 be better if I have the right gear ratio I will check tomorrow.
On the fuel injectors, if you accelerate under 300rpm it does fine, but if you kick it between 300-400 it will spit and spudder. If you take off fast or passing gear it does fine. I use fuel injector cleaner pretty much every tank full. Could I have some clogged injectors, if I took them out and cleaned them will it help, injectors are not cheap. Is there a certain type injector cleaner that would work better.

Actually a tire with a nominal aspect ratio of 70 is wider than a tire with a nominal aspect ratio of 75.

You mean 3000-4000rpm correct? Idle speed is 650rpm so 300 would be about to stall.

The tires you mention running are 3.5" taller and 1.25" wider than what you have now. No way they'll fit a 2wd with out rubbing. And then you suggested a 70 instead of a 75 tire but that will make it an inch shorter not skinnier. Play around with this tire size calculator for a while. https://www.discounttire.com/learn/tire-size-calculator

Example your 235/70/15 tires are 235mm wide, the sidewall height is 70% of that 235mm so sidewall height is 164.5mm x 2 sidewalls = 329mm. Convert that to inches 329/25.4=12.9"+15" wheel diameter equals 27.9" tires. The 265/75/16 you suggested are 31.6" tall.
