What junkyard auxillary electric fan fits best?
78 F-250 4x4. My truck runs cool as a cucumber, except when the snow plow is blocking the radiator. Doesn't overheat, but does creep into the 210-220 zone occasionally. Ive got a huge aluminum heavy duty 2 core, and a severe duty clutch fan, they seem to work well, but I want the added insurance of an auxillary electric fan that I can switch on and off when I need it.
Are there any junkyard direct fit fans I can use?
Thanks!

Have you considered the Lincoln Mark VIII fan to replace the clutch fan entirely?
I just swapped in a Thunderbird fan which is a slightly less powerful version of the Lincoln Mark VIII fan and so far it seems to be working very well. I wired up a relay harness with three 30A Bosch style relays to my Holley Sniper EFI, but you can get a dual temp switch to perform the same task or simply wire up mechanical switches.
Instead of junkyard hunting I bought the TYC620950 from Amazon for less than $70.
I had to fabricate brackets to mount the fan to the radiator but not too big of a deal - honestly any electric fan you get will need some sort of fabrication to install.
So far it is cooling very well compared to the Flex fan I was using before and it still hasn't triggered the high speed fan and only turns on the low speed fan for a couple of minutes to drop the temp back to 180 degrees.
IMHO, keeping the clutch fan and adding an auxiliary pusher will be a lot more difficult than just switching to the very capably Lincoln Mark VIII / Thunderbird / Taurus fan option.
See my build thread in my sig for details (page 19).

Eh, no. Electronically controlled things fail far more often than mechanically driven things. Yes, I know it frees up horsepower. If I only had to trailer it to the strip, and worry about it a 1/4 mile at a time, then Id take the clutch fan off entirely. Ive replaced enough electric fans/sensors/relays and switches enough times that I'm not going to risk being without a mechanical primary. Thank you for the suggestions, and I'm looking at amazon now.
