You can be assured that if that much metal grinds off parts when it goes thru the engine there will be damage. Cam, rod and crank bearings heavily scored. Cam bearings had so much damage the oil holes were practically plugged. When I pulled the cam it cut the edges where the bearings had flared out.
Not very good at operating a smartphone! So all new bearings, cam & lifters, rings, oil pump and gaskets. I had the block honed and cleaned. They also set the cam bearings and checked for fit. The crank was polished. Here’s a couple pics of the bearings and oil pump. The entire engine was full of metal grit. Luckily I didn’t spin any bearings or score the cylinders.
Take a couple cans of spray carb cleaner and before you assemble it, spray that through all the oiling passages, in the crank too, to assure all those passages are squeaky clean and free of grit. Replace that oil pump too.
All ready got the new oil pump (listed above) cleaned out the parts washer and got new solvent, farm parts really trash that thing. And I am on my 8th can of brake clean doing final rinse the air compressor is also getting a good work out. Using proper assembly lube’s. Crank & cam are in, pistons are ringed should get those in tomorrow and heads set.
