Somewhat embarrassed.

Well, after 81,160 miles, I finally did my first oil change at home. Not the horror story that I was expecting at all. In fact, it's easier than my daughter's 2016 Fusion because the entire fabric liner has to be unscrewed and removed.

The thing that started this debacle was a small rattle under the engine area like a heat shield coming loose or something. The small annoying rattle that only presents itself once the truck is placed in drive and you initially take off was a thumb screw on the fabric liner that was loose.

Oh well, I'm OCD enough that I can't stand the little rattles one bit.

Get you a Fumoto drain plug, and you won't need any tools besides an oil filter wrench either.
