After cleaning the oil pan and lift valley of sludge, I have her back up and running, when I first started her I had 30 psi on the oil gauge. Then today, I let it run for a while pouring various snake oils (MMO and seafoam) down her throat. I was surprised, she seemed to run smoother with less smoke after burning off the Marvel.
Then I went to shut it off and notice NO oil pressure registering on the gauge. It wasn't making any crazy knocking or sounds, minor lifter sound but I think that would be normal and not louder than before.
I checked the wire on the sender and it seemed ok, so I opened the oil filter canister, took out the filter and cranked it. The inlet for the canister was spurting oil, so I think that would be good, oil is moving.
Can a piece of crude get in the sender hole? Can I test the sender with a multi meter?
I guess I have to get a mechanical tester gauge, anyone buy the one from Harbor Freight ?
And since I got her running for a while, I now discovered a leak in the radiator! Yipppiie!!
