Engine Tranny Swap

I have a '61 F-250 4x4 flatbed that I need to do an engine/tranny swap on. The truck sat for 30 or so years and the block is cracked (Montana truck stored outdoors!). The transmission and transfer case appear to be shot as well. Is there a swap from a newer Ford truck that is relatively straight forward? This is going to be a weekend driver so I don't care about mileage. Thanks

Welcome to FTE

What engine does it have now, 223 I-6 or 292 V8?

Bill, am I correct in assuming they hung the engines in the '61 from the front instead of the side? 'cause if that's the case , nothing is an easy swap without building frame mounts.

See upper & lower pics from 1957/63 catalog, 1964 is the same.
