bought an 88 f150 last year as a project.
came with a bunch of stuff completed,
4 inch Rancho, new long block, headers, exhaust, rims, nuts bolts, brake cables and on and on.
came with a box of new parts, all oil seals, ball joints, u joints etc..
i have replaced everything front to back and has been fun for the most part.
had a broken firewall as it is a standard trans, repaired that but not very easy.
Truck came with a flat deck needing mods to fit, I have completed 75% of that task , cutting apart and narrowing and shortening it.
i am now sorting out the wiring , I have marker lights , led reverse and tail lights.
question is .. When I turn the key on the tail lights are on dim , when truck is running they are still on dim, all other functions work as they should. Not sure if this a running light feature ? The ambers are not on in front.
to be clear I have 2 reverse, and 2 tail lights performing the signals, tail lights and brakes all in one.
thanks to anyone taking time reading my long winded post.
Dave
Do they turn brighter when you turn them on by pulling the headlight switch to the parking light position? What about with headlights on?
they go bright once lights are turned on, bright when brakes applied, bright for signals, just not sure when key is on or truck running they sit there dim
i have seen allot of flat decks that have a total of 3 lights per side , reverse & 2 red ones, I wonder if this has something to do with it , I'm only running one reverse and one red.
Sounds like you have a bad ground and whatever is not grounded is grounding back thru the tail lights. Try unplugging the harness where it goes to the tail lights and see if something stops working.
