E4OD overdrive just stopped working.

I was driving but stopped to load some stuff.when I started the truck and got out on the road, my overdrive was kicking in from take-off. I went to shut off th OD and the switch no longer worked. I can shift it manually but don't want to risk more damage. It's not fuses... Already checked. Any sound knowledge would be appreciated.

If the OD switch won't work, take the plastic cover off of the steering column. Inspect the wires where they enter the shift handle. One or more of them are damaged. Either fix the wires or replace the shift handle.

thanks, that sounds reasonable. I was also told it could bea ground wire or the OD solenoid. Thank you. Will let you know.

It can't be the OD solenoid. There is no OD solenoid.
