So I'd like to add rear marker lights between my rear bumper and the tailgate. I noticed this morning there's a blank cap in that spot and was wondering if rear marker lights go in place of that blank cap. I'm also curious if there is a wiring harness behind that blank cap. Don't dink around with crap that may not fit. Here's what you need. These were ordered from TASCA 4/17:
HC3Z-13A613-BLamp Assembly - Side Marker $54.68
8U2Z-14S411-AACWire Assembly $14.67
Power for the LEDs was tapped from a license plate light. Ground in my case, was to the FRAME, not the aluminum box. If there is a factory ground point back there, use it. I didn't really look and just made my own.
I went with the factory parts also. Just know you'll have to splice the factory harness into a power source for it to work. Many use their plate light.
My $.02 - Don't order the lights from Trunk Monkey...they sent me two open boxes. The first one didn't light up and the second one was missing the pigtail. I decided to just make my own instead.
Wiring these up is a pain in the ***. Where exactly are you guys tapping the power from. Obviously I need To extend the wires.
I tapped into the licence plate lights when I made mine, and grounded to the frame. The harness is easier to get to if you drop the spare and slide it out of the way.

Trunk Monkey sells the light and the pigtail together as a “kit”. My shipment arrived today. There was a light, but no pigtail. It’s listed on the packing slip, but no one bothered to include it. I should have read this post sooner.....
