Ok guys I did some of the stuff you guys recommended..new deleted pedestal, SP Turbo, banks down pipe, bellowed up pipes, and banks air intake..let me tell you it is a new truck...now just waiting on the banks monster exhaust to arrive and complete the install.... now the next question...best intercooler..let me hear what you have tried and what is currently working.... after all this is done then saving up for Deaver springs and new injectors...
Right off the top of my head, I would say you have 4-5 choices facing you. Most will say that if you are getting an intercooler, go with a 6.0 model or if you can get a good deal on a 6.0 OEM, that is good too. Although, some manufacturers have posted information related to the 7.3 and 6.0 intercoolers they manufacture perform very similarly.
If you do go with a 6.0 intercooler, I believe the hot side is a larger hole by .5", but I am not sure.
An FTE'r by the name of White Buffalo did a lot of research and provided some great knowledge when I was considering my next steps.
Sous is right. One of the IC ports is slightly larger than the other. On the 6.0 cooler (the OEM one at least) they are the same size so you will need a boot for that. Also the IC ports do not extend nearly as far out as the 7.3 IC. I would recommend getting a long boot for both sides (not just the one you have to replace) so you don't risk blowing a boot off under load. Just my .02.
