Hi
My last truck the fog lights were modified. To stay on when the high beams were on. I want to do the same thing to my new truck 2017 F350 DRW. Who knows how to do this. Cant find info on it. But I know it will be possible with this post. g Thanks
Can be done. Requires IDS changes at a dealer or you can change it with FORScan. The latter requires a PC laptop and a Bluetooth OBDII adapter. There is a ton of info in this forum about it. Bambi mode is the term that will help you on the search.
Wow am I out of date. My last truck 2005 it was all in the wiring. Now it is a computer change. I don't have the code reader or a laptop. I will have to call a dealer or shop. I don't think a code reader is that expensive. Forscan looks like a free down load. Hm may just be able to pull this off? Any one else already done this? Did you do yourself or take or take it in? Dealer or other shop?
Bambi mode just wrecks your night vision anyways. There's a reason those turn off. What's the point of a flood light 20' from the truck when you're focused down the road on your high beams?
It sure is neat sending as much light as possible down the road, but it doesn't actually seem to help.
Kinda like the FYRLYT's I had on a previous truck. Power of the sun, but every street sign was a blinding reflection.

I agree, however, if light output is the goal and you make this change at least there is a button to turn the fogs off.
I agree with that statement, too. It's also illegal in Virginia and a vehicle will fail its annual safety inspection if the fog lights do not automatically extinguish when switching headlights from low beam to high beam.

A lot of us on here have done it. The folks that posted above me about it being illegal or wrecking your night vision, make sure to consider this before doing the mod. I notice no difference in "night vision" when I'm driving and being in a rural area I like being able to see far ahead but also see the edges of the road (animals like to jump out). The mod is simple with the adapter and laptop, it's trickier to take to a shop or dealer as it can be illegal, so most won't do it. Better to DIY
There are no inspection in this part of the state. So no worries there. Way useful on the farm at night. Also off road when hunting. Going to add led light bars in grille for above application. Not intended for highway use.
