I am trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my seat. I can feel what seems like a bar/rod running down the back of my right thigh and after long rides it starts to get painful. I am a bigger guy but it seems like there is not enough padding or something. I loved the seat in my 2013 but this one sucks. Anyone else feel anything like this?
same here.. took a 6hr trip to Houston for a dr's appt came out and hot lapped it back home and i was really hurting. lariat package F250srw and nowhere as comfortable as my 2015 KR.f350 drw.
I don't know if the XLT seats are different or not mine is a Lariat. I need find another truck to sit in and compare. I didn't notice any discomfort on my test drive but after an hour in the seat and I'm hurting.
I drove my brothers truck 18' just like my truck except my truck is a 17' and I swear his seat felt harder than mine did! And if felt like it was a bit higher!
My truck I can fall asleep in the seat or start to doze off it's really comfy. Both trucks are XLTs so I don't know
Going from an 09,11,14, and now 17 F350 the seats in these new trucks are certainly a step backwards in my opinion. I could road trip all day in any of my old trucks but this 17 starts to hurt my lower back and butt after about 3 hours. I did remove the lower lumbar cable from inside the seat which helped a little, but the seat is still uncomfortable for me.
My lariat seats are 9 way adjustable. The only thing I don't have over the KR or platinum is the massaging. My suggestion to you is adjust them on a regular basis when on long drives. Staying in the exact same position is what is causing your problem. If you have memory settings, when you find a good spot, set it as a setting including steering wheel tilt and telescope. What I do is adjust, modify while driving on long trips, and eventually, I can't find a good spot so I stop and take a break and revert to my memory setting and start over. My 2005 had 6 way adjustable, and once I found a good spot I pretty much left it there. My XLT in 2000 was all manual and while it was adjustable, no where near the flexibility of the 2017 9 way.
I have a 2017 Lariat and I got a sore butt after 3 hours. I have a power seat and found out the seat was at the floor. So I raised it up to where I feel like I was in the old 2015 Lariat that I traded it in. It made a big difference! I think I raised it up about 3 inches. I just don’t understand why the seats were so low to the floor!
The amount of adjustment available is quite a bit in all 9 directions. But yes, the floor height and the tilt of the seat bottom are where you get the most comfort adjustment.

I did try this today and it seemed to help quite a bit. I will continue to play around and set a couple more to memory. Thanks
Coming from a 2012 F-150 FX4, I thought the Lariat leather seats were rock hard and uncomfortable as hell. What I've found after 8000+ miles, they seemed to have broken in, and the comfort has improved.

2017 F-250 Lariate (leather, electric seats). I agree. These are the hardest seat bottoms that I’ve ever had. Okay around town with super heat & cooling, but after one to two hrs on highway, I am hurting. My guess is that there isn’t much cushioning above the heating/cooling mechanisms. I bought a thick cushion which I use for highway trips. Of course, there’s no seat heat or cooling that way, but that’s not so important for longer trips when the cabin temp has already become comfortable. Wish there were a fix internally to the seat.
