I love the seats in my truck. The wife and I just did a 13 hour run to Florida, and back. Seats were great.
I regularly tow long distances in the truck and think the seats are great.
I would suggest you find another truck with the same seats and sit in it and see if they feel any different. Its always possible that there is an issue with the frame or padding in yours.
The only thing I have to compare them to are my 2014 RAM 1500. my lariat trim seats are way more comfortable. I've done an 8+ hour trip this past year and was pleasantly surprised how comfy I was.
I find my '18 F350 Lariat seats ok, not terrible but not great. My '05 F350 Lariat seats were way more comfortable, had no problem driving long distances. If you want to experience something really uncomfortable spend some time in a Lincoln with the new perfect position seats, worse thing I ever sat in, the side bolsters dig into your rib cage.
Everyone is different, but for me it was the lack of thigh support that was causing pain, some nerve compression, even some numbness. Been battling back issues for a decade, with two surgeries in the mix, so am pretty sensitive to seat position. I tried all sorts of stuff in my '19 F-350 6.7 KR with the massaging seats. High, low, tipped forward, tipped back. What worked for me (at 6'3") was back of seat low, front of seat tipped up, max lumbar, and a 2 inch thick memory foam pad under my legs, covering the front 1/2 of the seat. Seat went from unbearable to genuinely comfortable.
For me, if the steering wheel would tilt down a couple of more inches it might improve my comfort in the seat. I really miss the captain chairs with dual armrests of the olden days!
I did the lumbar mod on my 2017 after trying with no success finding a comfortable position. The mod made it acceptable for me. My 2019 Platinum is 100% better. We just completed a 3500 mile trip with no aches & pains.

I find the seats in our new 2019 Lariet superduty (wife does too) are aweful compared to our past 01 08 2011 2016 Lariet superdutys. And even though the lumbar is retracted all the way it still digs into my back. Sit's too far out for me. Is that what you did? take that out? would love to get rid of that lumbar bump in the most relaxed position I never used the lumbar in any of my seats over the years so now this one is a pia and must go.
also narrower seats with higer wings that dig in and shorter seat bottoms.
I am trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my seat. I can feel what seems like a bar/rod running down the back of my right thigh and after long rides it starts to get painful. I am a bigger guy but it seems like there is not enough padding or something. I loved the seat in my 2013 but this one sucks. Anyone else feel anything like this?
Yes.
Unbearable cramps 350 miles into a 600 mile trip one way. Had to pull over to the side of the road type of cramps. Had to get off at the next exit leg cramps. Took twice as long, with four times as many stops, on the 600 mile return back type of leg cramps. 2019 XL. 6'5". I'm somewhat concerned about the crew who will be using this vocational truck daily, but they won't be taking as long of trips that I did when it was new... just short local trips, so I don't expect they will notice or fatigue from the seats.
Never had an issue in previous generation Super Duty. Can't recall ever experiencing this issue in any other vehicle either.
