I put a ton of personal miles on during a year pulling. I've had 03,05, 12, 15, 17 model super duties and I loved my bench seat in my 03 the most out of all of them. I just hit 100k on my 17 and I'm bringing it in to a local upholstery shop. He is going to switch the drivers and passenger seat bottoms around to prevent further wear on leather from the plastic and getting in/out. He has a secret weapon for the bottom cushions that he learned from Volkswagon to get the comfy feel back. I never liked my 2017 seats and he promised me smiles are coming my way. I still own the 2015(220k) and my 05 (369k). I think the 05 seat has held up the best as far as maintaining comfort but non equal my trusty bench seat.
I am a sleek 415 pounds and 6 feet tall and i have gone through a cushion every 3 months and one seat base actually broke. Good thing warranty covered the $1200 base. The foam is junk and doesn't last. I'm seriously considering buying a firmer foam and trimming it to match factory one. I would pay for a nice cushion long lasting seat. Considering I'm on the road for 6 to 8 weeks at a time transporting trailers.
Been riding alot in it lately. What definatley bothers me is the lumbar area. Even relaxed it sticks into me. There is a mod which I will have to try when spring comes. Miss my 2016 seats so bad.
I’m 6’-7 and 270 lbs., and I can get comfortable in our Lariat, especially when I add a Purple brand seat cushion (the “Simply” model, IIRC). I do fiddle with the seat bottom tilt settings during long trips, and Memory #2 returns everything to baseline the next morning.
To me, discomfort is a distraction, so I consider comfortable seating to be a safety feature of sorts.
Another plus to our truck’s configuration is the power (and heated and cooled) front passenger seat. My wife is VERY happy with this feature...
HTH, and safe (and comfortable) travels!

Seems you missed the later Superdutys. With the 2016 being the best of that run. I drive 40k a year and sleep in it many hours on business and no way can I get as comfortable in them no matter what adjustment or pillows which I have.
A few guys said they take the plastic large bladder for lumbar out and put in a piece of foam (I'm going to try that soon) as the module makes the back stick out and you can fell that alot. I do. And I can see why they took it out.
The driver's seat in my '19 SD isn't the most comfortable. Had to fiddle with the adjustments and that improved things a bit.
On the other hand, as a person who has had comfortable seats in other vehicles and has dozed off with the cruise set at 70 MPH (happened over 20 years ago), I find that I no longer want really comfortable seats.
No serious injuries, but the vehicle didn't make it. The Highway Patrolman said that when he first saw the vehicle he was ready to call in a couple of fatalities. Unforgettable experience.
I'm better off with seats that are a little uncomfortable and that end up making me stop every two or three hours or so and get out of the vehicle.

Sorry buddy. That's doesn't make sense. If you can't know when your tired and rely on seats you may have issues.
Push yourself enough, get comfortable enough, it'll happen to you, too.
To claim otherwise is to claim that you aren't a human being.
You may want to drop that macho attitude. It can literally get you killed.
I would argue that vehicle seats should not be comfy. You're not in your living room in front of the TV.
If you must stop every 2-3 hours because of the seat , there is something wrong. I've had my fair share of 12+ hours stopping only for fuel and in my 17 I've never had any pain at all. Seat comfort is relative to your body anyway so no manufacturer will ever produce a seat that is comfortable for 100 % of people.
That being said a superduty seat is not uncomfortable at all. Try a leather seat in a smart car and you will change your mind
I can tell you right now the build quality is suffering badly and the interiors are now very uncomfortable. I have owned every year of F150-F450 for the past decade. I have now purchased a 2020 F450 and F350 and the vinyl seats are TERRIBLE. You used to be able to get the vinyl and be comfortable because they were soft and didn't have any technology bs in them...but now they've even f**** that up. The door panel arm rests have ZERO padding and kill my elbo after a short drive. The console vinyl also has ZERO padding...it literally doesn't push down at all with your finger. The back of the drivers seat is very uncomfortable and you cannot remove all of the lumbar support as you could in previous years so it forces an awkward sitting position. It's extremely annoying...so annoying I'm TRADING the F450 I purchased in December 2019 already (with less than 3k miles). I drove it from Ohio to Mississippi and it made me so nauseated by the time I got home I said F*** this. My other 450's were fine (I loved them actually) until 2019 and 2020. In fact, my 2018 F150 vinyl is the most comfortable truck I've ever owned. My 2015 Platinum F150 was amazing and all F350 and F450's prior to 2019 were fine, but you could tell with each year things were changing for the worse. I believe my 2008 F450 was the most comfortable. I remember taking cross country trips in it with family and no one complaining. If we did that in the 2020 F450 we wouldn't remain a family and I would be divorced.
I don't know what Ford is doing, but for a company that prides itself on quality and building the best truck you can certainly tell they are trying to cut corners and save money everywhere. Also, my new 2020 F450 had three major problems before it left the lot. The front windshield leaked profusely, the rear cab vents were not installed correctly from the plant and leaked profusely filling the cab with water and the brakes squeaked from day one. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH FORD! Don't robots install the windshield sealer???
I love the trucks and Ford and they make the best looking trucks, but if they don't gain control of their quality problem I'll be looking elsewhere moving forward. I've had it and this 2020 experience has been the final straw. The seat comfort (considering how much time we spend in these trucks) is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE considering THEY HAD IT RIGHT in the past. WTF???? The ONLY reason you would take a padded, comfy seat and change it decreasing the amount of material is to save MONEY or WEIGHT. So it's either Ford or the EPA we have to thank??
Sorry you've had so many problems. That's no fun at all.
I will say that my 2017 F250 Lariat seats were very comfortable, much more so than in my wife's Tahoe. And my 2020 F350 KR seats are more comfortable than my 2017 so far. I'm 6'2 and 240 with arthritis, so the seats built into smaller cars and airplanes absolutely kill my back. My super duty seats fit me really well, and I enjoy the adjustable lumbar support. Seat comfort is a very subjective thing with lots of variables.
After 10,000 miles now still uncomfortable as heck compared to previous year Superduty Lariets. I lost the link to the back mod were he took the plastic air bladder controller out and put in a piece of foam. That is a big part. That thing jams my back all the time. Time to get it out.
Yes, the seats are not good. Our first 6hr tow, I experienced the pain in the left ribcage that another forum member had posted in another thread. Since that trip, I do a lot of readjusting while driving on extended trips.
