I have got to replace my leaking stc fitting, I'm going to replace the standpipes and dummy plugs, also the hpop screen. Is there any other things that I should do while it is tore down?
If the EGR cooler is stock, I would swap it out for a BulletProofDiesel EGR cooler (or delete it).
Also, I would install the updated fuel pressure regulator spring (blue spring). Then install a fuel pressure sensor and gauge.
Be careful w/ the FICM connections when removing and installing!
Not sure about your mileage or the age of your hoses and the belt, but the heater hoses are hard to get to - you might consider replacing them. I am on a belt replacement schedule of about every 100k miles.
Inspect the glow plugs to see if you have any oil leaks. They are fairly cheap and depending on the mileage, it may be wise to change them. That said, it is common to damage the glow plug harnesses when removing them, so add the harnesses to the job (they aren't so cheap).
Are you going to do an air test after working on the STC fitting and the plugs (before putting the valve covers back on)?
Is that something that needs to be done? The truck has about 120000 miles. I was planning on welding up the egr and replacing the up pipe to one without the scoop in it.
