Okay, so my right turn signal/brake light will not work on trailer. I tested connection at 7-way receiver, nothing. No brakes, no turn. Other side works, as well as parking lights, power, etc. I disconnected the coupler up under the bed near spare tire. Again, all wires work except the green, the right turn/brake light. I looked up to the driver's side and it appears the loom goes into that brake light. I took the brake light out and the loom was not there. Where can I find where the loom plugs into the next spot, to check the signal for the green wire? Is there a place under the hood where it goes that the connection may be corroded? I'm kind of out of ideas at this point as to where that loom of trailer wires goes to. Truck is an '01 F350 with the factory receiver connection.
Yeah that's what I thought too. I tested the ground coming out of it and all the wires. everything is good except the darn green one for the right brake/turn.
I ended up hacking the connector out of the harness and using shrinkwrap butt connectors. I got tired of losing one or more trailer functions and having to wiggle the connector to get them to work.
The real issue with mine was someone before me used scotch locks to splice into the harness instead of buying the proper 7 way end...
Okay so my fuse was blown. I fixed it, but now none of the stop lights or turn signals work, so I'll have to check the receiver and see what's up. It's possible the 6x12 has bad lights on the back, and that's compounding my repair. I'll check everything with the multimeter today, and I'll know if it's just the trailer at this point. I know the left turn signal was working on the big trailer, and that's all I'm really concerned about because you can't see truck lights with that one hooked up.
