Alignment Check

I recently installed the BDS 2" level with fox shocks and feel like the truck has alot more bump steer in the steering. I did put the caster bushing in as well. The steering wheel moves on every bump I hit. It gets a little annoying after driving for awhile. Should I have them change anything on the alignment

Current Measurements after level and alignment

Left Camber 0.1 / Right Camber 0.0
Left Caster 3.5 / Right Caster 3.5
Left Toe 0.16 / Right Toe 0.15

If you look at the picture the it looks like it matches the stock alignment besides the toe adjustments.

I added a bilstien 5100 steering stabilizer to my last truck and it helped with bump steer. I'm not too familiar with lifted trucks so I can't promise it will yield the same results for you.

Did you put bigger tires on too? Different steering stabilizer? Those caster angles seem on the high end of the spec. I was told to be carefull about going too high with the caster angle, there has to be a happy medium. The shop that installed my 2” level said if the caster angle gets on the high end of the spec it can cause the truck to feel like it wanders while driving down the road, it doesn’t want to find center. Possibly with that wandering would be bump steer, im not sure? I wanted them to go higher with my caster angle to get rid of my DW but they said to try this first because they didn’t want the truck wandering down the road, they have my caster set about 1.6-1.7. My truck drives great too! No hint of bump steer or DW! I have a Fabtech 2” level, Skyjacker shocks, Skyjacker steering stabilizer, track bar drop bracket and 35x11.5x20 tires. Good luck!

Yes it has bigger tires 295/65/20 on stock wheels. No steering stabilizer yet. The truck does wander on the road a bit but not terrible. Always wants to pull to the curb if the road has a crown in it.

My caster was set from the factory about 1.3 or so (I can’t find my alignment spec sheet anymore) and the truck was toe’d out slightly. Now at 1.6 or 1.7 and the toe set correctly it drives great down the road.

Did you do a single replacement stabilizer or dual? Anyone have a part number for a stock replacement single? Really don’t want a dual setup right now.

I'd drop the left caster down to 3.0 unless your streets have no crown. Otherwise It looks good except it's towed in .

My truck has driven exactly like you are describing since the day I put my leveling kit on. I've tried everything that I know of to get rid of the steering wheel shake when I hit bumps. I have a dual steering stabilizer (rancho), caster shims, & fox 2.0 performance shocks. I'm not sure what else I could do but I honestly hate the way my truck drives. If it didn't look so good with the bigger wheels and tires I would go back to stock.

The wandering will most likely go away when the tires get heat cycled a bit. Might take 5000 miles.

I'd have to drive it to feel the "bump steer". Live axle trucks will always have bump steer. Look how much the axle moves left or right with just 2" of lift. Every time you hit a bump it moves like that. You're going to feel it. Does it lesson on snow or ice?

I didn't get it realigned after I put my caster shims in, but they should be at 3.4 and 3.5. I drove it around for several thousand miles on the factory shims and even tried some radius arm drop brackets and it still didn't help.
