I have a 2013 F150 that did not come with a Navigation system, has anyone installed a system after the fact with any luck? I have looked here in the forum but did not find what I needed.
Thank you Siberexpress,
I started the Google search process and the data was endless. This will take me some time to go through for sure, that being said, the information leads me to a few more questions I did not know I had but I will review the suggested documents and see how it leads me.
Is this comm unit acceptable? http://www.amazon.com/OHP-Forscan-co.../dp/B06XJL31Z7
Update:
I spoke with my service writer friend at the Ford dealer, I explained my situation and asked if my Navigation could be "activated", he took my Vin and researched the build sheet for my truck. Ultimately my truck was not built with navigation system components and therefore there is not an option to "activate" it at all?.
I'm sure the input to purchase the Forscan/SD card/data adapter will afford me other options but apparently not Navigation......
Anyone have input or suggestion besides remote mounted GPS ( TomTom, Garmin...)? Am I still missing something?

I know of someone that turned his on with Forscan, it is supposed to be built into the unit itself, it is just not turned on and the card is not installed. it is just on the ones with My Ford Touch and it might also need the 8 inch screen. But it was just on the 2013 and up F150's.
I don't know about the Bluetooth adapters, I have a pass through that plugs into my laptop.
I've turned Nav on in about 8 MFT units with FORScan, they all work like a champ, My first one was my FX4, and I've done them in tarus's, explorer's, a edge and other F150's.
Not hard to do, well documented instructions, the only things neededd for purchase is a pass through device and a SD card with maps.

That cable or the obd mx bluetooth are the suggested models for elm adapters. Other adapters can have issues.
Forscan is super easy to enable nav on MFT. Directions are in the spreadsheet in my signature. I would also read the "how to use forscan" link on the instructions page before you do anything. Also back up all of your modules before you do anything.
I see a number of suggestions to do a "as built" back up before making modifications. Would someone please direct me on that process. Is this on a jump drive, or laptop storage?
Well gentlemen, Heres the scoop.....I purchased the pass through connector, the A8 SD card and downloaded the Forscan software. I was able to get into the APIM and change the 7D0-01-02 parameter to the suggested x4xxx-xxxx-xxxx. I followed the Spreadsheet directions at the link jdunk54nl provided and after a number of attempts I still do not have Navigation!!! The Sync screen still indicates "Information " where Navigation should be!
Anyone want to kick in here and shed some light on this??
