Hello from Finland. I'm New here and english is not my first language , so I apologize for eny mistakes.
But I have A problem with My Ford F250, its climate controller just died. After pressing the OFF button, all the lights and numbers vanish. Now I cant get them back. It doesent respont to eny of the buttons. I have check the fuses, non seems to be broken.
Eny ideas? Thanks.
Turn on the headlights for a few seconds, then turn them off. You might need to try this a few times. That should bring it back. It seems there is a possibly a "lazy" relay somewhere that starts working again w/ an electrical load on it.
Thanks it worked. Now to the other broblem that I have Whit it, it's cold in Finland this time of year, around 10F. The temperature gauge shows right at first, But when I have drived a White and the motor is getting warm it starts to rise, all the way up to 110F.
What scan device are you using to get the actual temperature value?
Could be that the coolant temp sensor (ECT) is bad, or it might be that the thermostat is bad although that would be pretty far off for a bad thermostat.
If you are going to change out the ECT sensor, you will need a 21mm stubby wrench or a cut down deep socket to remove it without removing the thermostat housing. You will need to drain a few gallons of coolant also. I removed the air filter and the CAC tube to get to it.
Just as an FYI - the ECT sensor is the same as the EOT (oil temp) sensor.
Sorry i'm not sure if You or me understud this right. I'm talkin about the climate control temperature display. It is funky, not the engine temperature indigator. I now the out side temp by looking thermometer. or is it enywhere near what You ment?
Maybe it is the ambient temperature sensor, if not you may have a bad cluster (HEC or hybrid electronic cluster).
The ambient air sensor is behind the grill on the driver's side ... pinned to a trim piece.
Edit -
I'll have to go look at the sensor and refresh my memory, but I wonder if a Charge Air Cooler (CAC) leak could be blowing warmer air onto it.
Edit again - Pull the grill to expose the sensor. Looks like you would have to have some plastic components not installed to facilitate hotter "charge air" from a leak to impact that sensor.
