I’m having trouble finding the problem my truck won’t communicate with a snap on obd scanner.when I connect any scanner it will prompt me to place key in on position witch it already is. Checked all pinouts for obd port all of them seem to get good continuity and good voltage haven’t checked pcm to see if the obd2 port is fried truck will start and do everything right but no communication.some help please to how I could find out if pcm obd side is fried.my truck is a Ford F-250 2000 7.3 4by4 automatic extended cab. Already made sure lighter fuse is good.
I used a snap on scanner worked on other 7.3 but not mine and lighter fuse is fine getting 12.3 volts on pin 16 so I know there is power going towards te port .
Same Snap-On and same operator? Maybe it's something like Jay mentioned, a setting on the Snap-On tool. I think the connection is J1850 something, but I can't remember exactly off hand...
Yes same snap on and same operarator and no there is no software communication protocol setting and it’s used same day on other 7.3 trucks to make sure it’s the truck and not scanner that’s bad
