F350 Decode

Hi,

I recently aquired a ford, believe its a 76. Can't find any tags but have vin off the papers. Says its a F37MCB76198. I'm hoping to figure out more about it, currently wondering what size (diameter / length) the kingpins are, also what rotors and calipers and bearings to get (just the front). Any info you can provide helps a lot! Thx Matt

Please ask further questions in the 1973/79 F100 and larger truck forum. This forum is for BIG 500 and larger series trucks.

F37 = F350 Cab & Chassis.

M = 390 4V

C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

B76198 = 1976.

1973/79 F350's (2WD only thru 1978) have dual piston caliper front disc brakes. Brake and front suspension parts should be available from NAPA and etc. indie auto parts stores.

11 digit VIN's thru 1980. 17 digit VIN's 1981 thru today.
