Hello from the uk, here’s my ol jailbar
Has dropped front axle and lowered rear. Has dual exhaust with brockman mufflers. I’ve just fitted some 37 ford rear lights and am getting the stock wheels banded by 1 1/2”. I’m hoping to get some period looking lettering done on the doors(if I can find someone to do it!)
Do you folks like them stock or slightly modded??
Ian
I'm kind of a minimalist (read lazy) and generally don't change things that work but I see nothing wrong with the direction you are going, nothing at all. Especially when it's something that can be un-done easily. BTW, love that stance with the drop.
You don't need someone to put on lettering. I think that back in the day if some plumber or parts guy needed a sign on his door he may just have bought the right paint and a stencil and done it himself. Or perhaps practice up on the script and do it that way freehand.
I LOVE your truck just the way it is. The tail lights are perfect. I do my own door art. It isn't that good but as stated, it often wasn't. At my last physical I mentioned to the Dr that I find my hands are shaking when doing detail work. He said "There are two types of shaking... one is ok and the other is not too good. I have a test for you. Go home tonight and have a coulple of drinks. (Oh darn). If that alleviates the shaking you have the good kind. If not it may signal an oncoming condition that is not good at all. All I'm saying is have a couple of beers before you pick up the paint brush.
A friend of mine builds hot rods and he does everything himself, he said the same thing about the doors too!
So, any ideas on artwork! I’m an electrician!!
Thanks
Ian

Here is a picture of what can happen after too many beers:
Two years of restoration without beer produced the 2017 AACA Peterson Award Winner (best fire engine judged nationwide) for Nelson and Pat Thorpe. All the striping, lettering, and logo were hand painted by a professional.
