I paid $500 under invoice and then used $1500 is Ford/AQH rebates for a total of $2000 under invoice. Picked the truck up yesterday...really nice interior!
Some dealers milk the "latest and greatest" for everything it is worth. The Limited is nothing more than a trim package, of which Ford will likely build as many as there are buyers. There is no reason to pay any more of a premium for it than Ford already priced into it.
They have to, unless they want to lose their ability to sell AZ Plan. Ford, not the dealership, decides which models can and can't be bought with the AZ Plan. At least that's what I've been told over the years. I've used A or Z Plan (via my father, who worked for and retired from Ford) for the last dozen vehicles I've purchased.

I was always under the impression that the dealer can choose whether they want to accept an ADXZ plan or not.
and then there is this tidbit in the rules
"Vehicles may be ordered from production or, if the dealer agrees, may be selected from the inventory of the dealership. Dealers are not required to participate"
"if the dealer agrees".. So they could tell the customer they have to order and not use up their floor stock.

You are 100% correct. But, I am one that helps stimulates that frenzy. I really enjoy the latest and greatest. Not fiscally wise in the least, but I still "bite". I had one of the very first Platinums in Denver. Just had to have it. Paid MSRP - 1K rebate. Didn't think it was too bad. You are correct it is just a trim level but it is very nice. And, I am thinking of going white. I have had so many black vehicles as of late a change may be nice.
With that said I will not pay "market adjustment" as some dealers price. The Raptor is a good example. A few dealers are still charging 10K+ for the ride. And getting it. Crazy how popular that truck still is.

I think it unlikely that any dealer would refuse A plan for a F series truck in their inventory. They still make a profit on A plan sales. Salesmen in my neck of the woods jump on an A plan sales because they close very quickly. No negotiations, the price is fixed, no hassle for either side. They show you the Ford invoice with the fixed price, you give them your PIN, they verify, and you are done.
The last truck I purchased with A plan took all of 45 minutes start to finish. They prepped the truck next day, and it was over.

yes they get a small spiff for selling on ADXZ plans but it is no where near what they would make selling at invoice plus higher Doc fees.
I could see them doing it onariat and XLTs all day long because of how many they carry but on a more rare top trim, I was just surprised.
