Some Deal

I found an '04 F-150 XL 5.4, 3.73 limited slip that interests me (specs below). The MSRP is $24,990. My wife qualifies for X-plan. The dealer showed the X-plan price to be $22,400 which is about $200 over invoice. Another local dealer is advertising a $3300 discount to anyone off the street? These prices are before rebates. How is it that the ad price is better than the X-plan? How much room does a dealer have to move below X-plan pricing?

Chipmm, I would ask the dealer to show you the printout of the "X" plan price. Typically "X" plan is at or below invoice, plus you are also eligible for any rebates too. I was looking into a 2005 F250 and the printout showed the "X" plan about $180 below invoice.

hessdk,
I was surprised that the X-plan price was over invoice, but this is the first time I'm buying under X-plan. I saw a print out. Maybe it wasn't the actual invoice? They wouldn't let me leave with the copy. Maybe I'll have my cellophone camara at the ready if I go back.

Try sending a personal message to 1956MarkII, he is with Van Bortel Ford. Give him the truck model, trim level and options. He can give you the "X" plan price.
