Replacing door locks

I am going to replace my locks on my doors. Last weekend had someone put an item in my truck maybe as a inappropriate joke. Nothing was missing. I figure maybe was a "buddy" that isn't speaking to me right now. My locks haven't worked because they're froze up. The doors will lock but I can't get back in. No keypad or remote entry just a standard key lock. I know Napa has a kit for about $40. I imagine you need to remove the interior door panel to remove the old locks and install the new ones correct? My other trucks door panel is held on with screws but this one is newer so probably has plastic tabs. The truck is a 2000 F-250 crew cab lariat trim package. Thanks in advance.

Door panels come off, which is super easy. Just remove 2 screws, lift one inch and pull panel away from door.

Good deal! Was scared it'd be like a lot of other vehicles that had all those goofy tabs that break.

No goofy tabs to break. Make sure you remove the switch panel from the door so you can unplug the assembly and get to one of the screws. IIRC the other one is behind the courtesy lamp cover at the bottom of the door.

Does it just pop off? Courtesy lamp is easy already had them open because none of them turn on in the truck. (Found out a fuse is missing with the scanner)

The lamp cover? Yes. Small flat blade screwdriver in the slot and you can pop the courtesy lamp cover off.

Once you remove the switch panel, both screws and the sail cover (small triangle that covers the rearview mirror nuts at the top of the door panel), you can slowly lift the door and it will come out of the guide slots (the door handle is mounted to the door itself so there's no rod to un-clip or remove from the handle). Don't pull too far as you still have to reach back there and remove the courtesy light socket (a simple 90 degree twist and it's out). After that you can set the door aside and you're in!
