I also used a DPST switch in my truck. But I used the switch for the ground.

One side of the switch is always on, the other is when the high beams are on.

I use a signal from the high beams to control the relay to complete the ground.

This way, no stray voltage going back into the cab or causing issues elsewhere.

I considered this as well as I have always hooked up lights before by switching the ground to keep the power wires as short as possible, well I have since I was about 16 and caught my old 68 C10 on fire by wiring up some lights and wasn’t smart enough at the time to use relays and fuses. But that’s a different story lol.

I wired up my buddies light bar on his truck last year that is only controlled by a switch, used the ground through the switch. He drove around for a few hours one day (daylight hours) getting flashed and wasn’t sure why until the police told him his light bar was on at a stop light, cop was cool about it, but could have been an issue, at the very least a reason to stop him which is always good to avoid.

I planned to wire in a small surface mount led pilot light by the gauge cluster that will come on with the light bar to let me know when it’s on to avoid this. Similar to a high beam indicator. I had ordered 2 blue ones when I ordered my light bar but they sent me yellow the first time and had to return them to get the color correct. Once it warms up a little I will be adding it to my truck and will also be changing up the wiring on his so it can do the same.

Remote area or late night/no other vehicles within a mile use I can understand. Other than that they'd just limit my high beam use for the most part.
why do people say stuff like this. Whaaaa the bright lights…! What a joke. Not everyone lives in the city and has constant oncoming vehicles. Some of us live away from the cry babies worrying about bright lights. Then there are folks out there driving with brights on constantly. Go cry to them.

I have a set of KC 6" Slimlite LEDs on my '21 that I have relayed into my brights, powered from upfitter 2. I had it just hooked to upfitter 2 with no additional trigger for awhile but I didn't like having to reach for it every time I met a car on the road. On my way to work at 4AM, I typically see a larger amount of deer than I see cars.

On my '21, I'm pretty sure the driver's side upper bulb high beam wire is white/blue.

Here is the high beam wire

After reading through the entire thread (and others) I still haven’t found anything showing me where the high beam wire is located on the headlight plug. Well, here is the passenger light plug. It’s 2nd from the end.
