Hello all, I'm new to the forum, but have read here for help before. I recently bought a 1971 F350 from a neighbor for a project truck and I have came across a lighting problem that really has me puzzled. The turn signal switch can be loosely moved between positions with no actual click of hold to it, but the real problem is what it actually is doing. The Left position works fine, but when it is turned to right turn position, then every light on the whole truck flashes as if it is a turn signal. I have a feeling it may be a ground that is disconnected but I have no clue. Side note, The steering wheel is rusted to the column and I can not remove it to get to the wiring there without likely destroying it.
Welcome to FTE first of all. Have you tried a steering wheel puller? I have never been able to remove the steering wheel without one. Good chance the problem is the turn signal switch.

When grounds go out, you usually lose lights; conversely, if you have lights, you have grounds.
I agree about checking the switch - what you've described makes me think there are broken parts inside the switch.
Thanks guys I will look into getting a steering wheel puller then. (probably shoulda' looked into that before a half hour of prying at it) I know I have a switch that worked at one time in the salvage so Ill swap that one in there and see if that fixes it.
Same thing happened on my '71 F100. In the end, pulled the steering wheel and changed the turn signal switch; problem solved. Steering wheel puller was key.
