Missing shifter mechanism in a '84 E150 3 in a tree.
Hey,
my friend has a Ford Econoline Van, E150 6cylender, 3speed manual.
the problem is because someone broke her shifting mechanism in the steering column, and someone tried to fixed it, but now that guy has perished. So my friend is left with a truck missing the whole shifting mechanism wich should be on the steering wheel and down. The 2 shifting rods are still there from the gearbox and front. So she needs everything from there and up.
its seems to be inpossible to find these parts, as most where automatic.
does anyone know where to get one, or is there a replacement option? For the floor?
Thanks!,
Rocky

Besides getting lucky and finding a 84 van with a 3 speed on the column at a junk yard??
I recommend you buy this Ford manual which will have detailed instructions, specs, and part call out numbers, to guide you through the job.
FORD 1984 Bronco, Econoline E150-E350 & F150-F350 Pick Up Truck Shop Manual CD

For parts, first you are going to have to identify the part and part number. You should be able to findit in the manual. Next will be locating the part.
Perhaps Ebay, junk yard, or there are a couple of restoration companies that might be able to help out. They specialize in bronco and F-series trucks but perhaps they might by chance have the part you need if it interchanges. They may also be able to offer some resources as to where to buy the parts.
Bronco Graveyard or Denis Carpenter
Our parts specialist here is known as NumberDummy and he will be able to provide you with any part numbers you need once you know what the part is. He can also see if the part is still available from suppliers.
