Need a horn pad. Was quickly told not to pull any steering wheels or remove parts from them as they like to sell entire columns. Makes sense to me.
Spotted this: Went to work removing it. Done deal The sad donor....tears.....sniff Found an eighteen wheeler mud flap and made a floor mat out of it after I removed the hardware. Pic of the factory heat stove.....don't see too many of them. I'd like to have it but this one is too far gone....
I appreciate your help bud but I guess I'm not comprehending. This is what I'm up against. Then also I would have to find/create another PCV port
If you look at the dent-side intake pic in the first post you can see what looks like a PCV port tapped in....on my 1980 the PCV port is in the spacer.
My experience was with a 1970 Carter YF carburetor, which I wanted on my 1986 4.9L engine. I did as you did with the later model gasket and used an ~5/16" round file and elongated the original holes [outwards]. It worked just fine and is still in use.
Regarding the port, you could drill and use a tap for threads to insert the correct sized adapter for the vacuum hose.
Thanks everybody. I have to get the 80 Bronco inspected and registered in February. Due to the incredibly stupid prices of horn pads I'm going to plug mine back in and secure each side with some good ol' duct tape. If they bitch then I think in Texas a push button horn will meet requirements.
If nothing else, you should be able to sell that grille for a fair piece more than you'll pay for it. Yards around here haven't seen trucks like that for at least 20 years now.
