Any opinions on a OBDII Gauge Monitor such as the Edge Insight CS2? I
have a base model Super Duty that has limited gauges and I was wondering if anyone has used something like this and if it is worth the money?
I have the CTS2 (the bigger display with touch screen).
PROs: It is nice to be able to monitor the EGT's at all 4 points along the system, especially during the regen process. or before shutting down to make sure the turbo has cooled some. Also, its nice to have Oil, Coolant, and Transmission temps all in one place
CONs: It cannot read the PID for Oil life remaining, which was something I really wanted. HP, Torque, and Throttle position PIDs that it read, do not work when cruise control is setting the base, only when your foot is controlling the speed.
Worth the money? Mine is the larger unit, that lefts you flip screens and see up to (i think) 24 PIDs, and I'd buy it again. The smaller one cannot be set up for as many PIDs, but it is about 30% cheaper as well.
Literally just hooked up my CTS2. Gonna take a small trip tomorrow and see what the most useful PIDs are. The screen size is really nice. The screen response is alittle slow compared to an iPhone/Android but, it’s a very useful tool. There are so many points to monitor.
Left bottom corner of the windshield. Run the wire over under the lip and down. I pull the end panel off the dash and push the wires in and under the dash.
Anyone know if the CTS2 will work on the 2018 yet? I had one on my 2010 Duramax and loved it. Hoping they come up with a nice way to mount it on 2017-2018's as well
I have the CTS2 in my Dodge and really want to get one for my 17 Ford but I won’t until they offer a molded pod dash mount. I really don’t want to deal with suction cups mounts coming loose and that take up any more of the already narrow side view of the windshield.
Since they offer these mounts for earlier models it’s hard to imagine they won’t for the new Super Duty’s. At least I’m hoping.
Just plugged the cts2 in after updating it out of the box like the book said and it seems to work on my 2018. I haven’t messed with it too much just set some things to monitor and took off
There is still no update for the 2018 6.7 power stroke. They now read under ford instead of import extra but do not load 6.7 specific data. Just got off the phone with them (Tech. support) and they are still working on the 2018 version. Last time I checked they said March. I should have asked if thy meant March of 2018 or 2019.
