starting issues 6.7

Has anyone else been having starting issues, my truck every so often will try to start, and you can hear that the starter hasn't fully engaged the flywheel. The truck stops cranking as it should and then when I hit the starter button again cranks just fine. Told the dealer about it and they said they couldn't find anything wrong, but now I'm wondering what is getting ground down and whats going to finally fail and leave me stuck.

The starter just spins freely. "Spiiiiiin whir zzzzzzzz" Or is there any grinding at all?

I believe someone else had this problem. I think I remember seeing damage to the teeth on their pressure plate? I'll see if I can find the thread.

Sound like its just slightly engaging the teeth ... or its just a really loud starter

I searched but didn't find another thread, be interesting to see. I haven't tried looking to see if there is an access port on the trans to see if the teeth are messed up at all.
