Was looking over the truck yesterday since it's been warmer and noticed this flat strap looking thing hanging down not connected to anything but grounded to the firewall. I rolled it up and zip tied it so it didn't touch anything but what is it? Everything on the truck works except the cruise. And 2nd pic I noticed my truck is dripping oil again under the transmission area. It did this once before a lot worse and I replaced the PCV and it completely stopped leaking. Noticed it's kind of looking oily and it's only a couple years old. Should I replace it again? Gotta figure out how to upload a picture now. I'm on my phone and I know Photobucket sharing doesn't work anymore.
The first photo is of one of the Radio static ground straps and that one bolts to the intake manifold. It is not needed unless you have a Radio and have static on the Radio.
Agreed that the strap is for radio interference protection, but on my trucks it bonds the hood to the firewall by that right side hood hinge.
Second photo sure looks like the PCV is leaking. What an odd setup though! Is that top hose barb open? Usually a PCV valve goes directly into a valve cover. Is that setup something on off? For what a valve is worth, I would change it and use one that has only 1 barb for the vacuum line.
Here is the replacement. $2.99. I think the PO must have down some custom routing or something. Mines easy to get to. The F fitting gets plugged in the top part since it's not used. For some reason I have to post pics in a new reply
