Thats a good idea for the mounting, i just recently put a XM in my truck and hid the antenna wires really good: Here you go.

Silver what did you do there with the mounting. I got mine on the air vent at the moment (Starmate Unit) till I figure out what I'm going to do.

well what i did take a flat peice of metal thats roughly 4x5 inches, bent the first 3/8's to a 90 than a bout a inch out bent it back to face the driver side at the right angle. then took the radio trim off and drilled to holes that matched up to the radio bolts. put the radio trim back on and drilled and mounted holes to bolt up the radio it self

best thing is i didn't have to drill no holes in the trucks or damage anything to have a great soild mounting spot and its easy to see

Don't mean to bring this back from the dead, but now that you've had it mounted this way for a while, what are your impressions? Any issues with reception at all?

well i don't have the truck anymore ...but that how i have it set up in my mother 07 f150 and my dads edge for about 2 years and it works great even through snow and ice
