I was testing my tanks before I hooked the fuel line up to my brand newly rebuilt carb as the place informed me of a lot of rust in it. So I flip to my rear tank and and crank it over and collect the gas in glass jars. Sure enough little particles of rust. So I flip to the front tank and crank a few jars worth to flush the system before really looking at the fuel for the front. Front was good so until I replace the rear the front will be the only one I use, cool so I put in my new clear fuel filter and put in new fuel line to the carb because why not. Start cranking and no fuel is getting to the filter. Unhook from carb and still won't pump fuel to it. I don't get what's going on. I replaced the fuel pump during the summer so I wouldn't think it would be bad not to mention it was working minutes prior. Any suggestions on wtf is going on. Pretty frustrated at this point.
Did you flip back to the front tank? If it cranks and does not spit fuel out the line prior to the carb, I'd suspect fuel pump just died. Or your tank sending unit pick up tube filter sock is covered up with crud.
Put some LOW pressure air back down the line just past the fuel pump connection point and see it that helps. Are you sure your tank switch is working?
To NOT drop the side tank and replace the sending unit, I bet you have to pull/lift up the bed. But then again the top of the side tank is slightly angled, so it might work out for ya.
