Plugged In All Night

I have a 17 F250 XLT CCSW Power Stroke of course. I have been plugging it in at night temps around 0 deg. When I get in to start it up in the morning my oil temperature is only around 30 deg. Is this normal?

The block heater heats the coolant that is in the engine block not the oil so the oil isn’t reviving any direct heat.

Yep, check the temp of your engine coolant and see if the heater’s functioning properly. Really, anything past 3.5-4 hours is a waste of electricity. It’s reaches temp in that time and doesn’t go any higher so, a timer on the outlet may save you some cash. It draws about as much power as a blow dryer so, an all-nighter will draw quite a bit.
