I replaced my rear end with a Ford 8.8 out of a 1999 explorer, I now have disc all around with the drum parking brake in the rear. I would like to use the factory park brake lever on the dash but I am having a hard time finding a parking brake setup that will work...
I've looked on rock auto for the replacement explorer brake cables and they aren't very expensive but I'm not sure it will work, I don't have the plate to join the two cables together...
I understand there is a lokar setup but all the ones I've looked at don't have the cable to run back to the parking brake lever.
I used the lokar cables and made a little bracket to hook my original park brake lever up to it. Mine is a 48 but I would think the same thing would apply. Its just a piece of square tubing with a hole drilled in 1 end to hook to the lokar clevis and a slot in the other for a cable clamp to fit into to clamp the stock brake lever cable.
