I wouldn't bother changing the oil in a 6.4, most guys just change engines...

I think the most popular response would be 5W40 Rotila Diesel motor oil.

I ran Shell Rotella 15W40 for a while but the viscosity was barely holding up so I have been running Motorcraft 15W40 Diesel Oil for years now and it does a good job. Oil change every 5k and fuel filters every 10k and always Motorcraft Filters!
