unlock doors when shifted into park
This might sound like a trivial thing, but I really wish the doors on my 2012 Navigator would unlock when I put the car into park. The factory options on the car are to unlock when the ignition is turned off & the drivers door is opened. I live in South Dakota where the temperature in the winter often gets down to -20. When it's that cold, I am not going to shut my car off until I am parked in my garage. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten out of the drivers seat, gone to the back to the liftgate to open it & it's still locked. This infuriates me to no end. The Navigator is my wifes daily driver. My daily driver is a Chevy Silverado. My Silverado doors unlock immediately when you shift into park regardless of whether the engine is running or not. I love this!! I would really like my Navigator to do the same thing. It is not a programming option. Has anyone come up with a fix for this? I am very tempted to install some switches on the shift lever to make the doors unlock. Can anyone give me any ideas of how a guy could fix this? Thank you in advance for any advice!!
