**HELP NEEDED. ELECTRICAL**1997 f-350
okay so I have bought my first truck and it is what I have always wanted. A power stroke diesel old body style crew cab long box. Long story short I travelled out of province to get this vehicle and it was in great shape in an out. I purchased the truck and it came with a few extras including a sled deck tha t had some clearance lights and a light bar. I don't have a sled so I sold the sled deck, unhooking the wiring, pulled of none connections, I did it all neatly. I was driving the truck a little later that night and my dash lights, headlights, tail lights, front signals, 3rd brake lamp, licesense plate lamps, either stopped working or would be flickering. The switch to turn on the dash lights I'd have pulled all the way out so all lights should be on and working but it is not the case. I have to pull the switch all the way out and push it in just a bit to get my dash lights to come on, but when the switch is pulled out dashlighs and headlights should work. But when you push in just a touch the dash lights will work with no headlights, I have tried replacing my headlight switch but that didn't help. I also changed the volt meter behind the dash everything seemed good until that evening until I pulled that sled deck off. If I can remember correctly all the fuses are good in the truck, the truck has LED headlights signals and all that jazz maybe could be the issue?? The front corner turn signals don't work in the headlights either. I have a list I will attach of what doesn't work for lights. It is the list of things I need to pass my safety. I can't get the picture to load but the lights are : dash lights, license plat lights, front clearance lights, front corner turn signals, no tail lights, or headlights, just daytime running lights

When you replaced the headlight switch, did you see any electrical/burn damage on the connector?
Seeing the parking lights come on with the switch halfway between the parking and headlight positions is not unexpected. That's just "cheating" with the switch; in effect, you're feeding the parking light circuit with the headlight feed by crossing contacts internally in the switch in that intermediate position. The first thing to TEST (not just a visual check) would be the parking light fuse.

I did not see any burn damage or bad electrical connections when I replaced the switch I will definitely look into switching that fuse out

He had ran wires into the tail lights for power on the sled deck to get the side clearance lights to work, I believe when I took the deck off I did it as neatly as possible to cause no shorts but there could have very well been one I will recheck those, areas

Found the problem
that issue was the exact fuse you were talking about. I'm guessing previous owner had issues with it powering his sled deck so he put in a 30 amp fuse and I'm thinking after I took the deck off, used the lights and then popped that fuse I replaced the fuse and it works great now, all lights are working as they were before. Thank you all for the help! CHEERS!

Thank you for posting the results afterwards. Not that I think this is an ultra common issue, but I know when I have a problem and I can't figure out what is causing it or I do know but don't know how to do it, it helps when somebody has posted on it in a forum and then when I Google to find it, it's been resolved.
