Come on guys, this is about getting power to the fuse block. The starter is still in the box. all this wiring is under construction. I tested the 3 wire plug to the fuse block and discovered that was the cure. I now have plugged in the 3 wire plug, connected the other end to the hot side of the solenoid. This step is missing from any instructions I have found (or was using) on installing a 1 wire alternator.
The body guy then showed up with the fresh painted hood and fenders so I stopped for now.
Thanks everyone for the comments, more to come.

so what Im reading here is that you got it fixed? Right on!
"I do not have any power past the battery side of the solenoid. a schematic shows "LG BLACK/YELLOW WIRE FROM SOLENOID CONSTANT POWER TO FUSE BLOCK AND STARTER SWITCH". I got no power. I suspect I discarded a wire from the battery side if the solenoid to one of the two, now empty, plugs."
Sorry about any misinterpretation. This is the information provided and what I was responding to originally. Forgive us if we can't see what you are seeing. It could have meant you weren't getting power to the starter, hence loose connection observations, don't get mad at the help if the information you provide is cloudy. No power to the fuse box, are you talking about the auxiliary box or the original truck fuse panel? Try to look at it from an outsiders perspective when you are asking for help. Lots of pictures in your posts but little information to go along with them.
Most people want to help, be ready to explain your circumstances a little better next time or expect off the wall answers or suggestions to not very clear problems.
Thanks D-rat. Daughter installed the seat belt yesterday and she & I did this. I will move on the the electrical power issue today. I found the fuses to be rusty.
I am having this same problem. Would you mind posting a pic of the 3 wire plug? Is it yellow with a triangle shape head and under the dash inside cab by the fuse box? Thank you
Thanks everyone. I was stumped for a day on this one. The solve here worked great and my new alternator is making a huge difference charging my higher output AGM battery and I can see it fixed all sorts of voltage problems. I cranked my sound system turned on all the lights, activated my CB radio, opened the doors so the dome light turned on and all is going strong. Going to hook a tachometer and a glovebox light up today
