So folks, I have a 2014 CC SB 4x4 XLT with the 6.2. I am seriously considering up grading to 2017 CC 4x4 Lariat with the 6.7. There is one nearby which is nice(new) but with an 8' bed. So what are the pros and cons other than more storage, also it will have a 5th. wheel in the bed as we pull our 12k + around? My concern is handling. Thanks.
Bigger fuel tank is a big plus with the 8. Better control of the trailer and smoother ride - wheelbase is your friend on the highway. Trade-off is parking. Tight getting in, and most spaces seem designed for 20 ft max.
I moved from a 2004 ccsb f250 to a 2017 cclb f350, i pull a 35' fifth wheel. I always hated the lack of room in the bed when hooked up to camper. I always had a tool box in the bed because I felt it was necessary but it really made the extra room disappear. I took the camper for a sixty mile pull before it got cold just to check the hitch, ride height, power, etc. I must say the power and the trailer control is unbelievable compared to the tuned f250. The turning radius of the f350 lb compared to the f250 sb is only about a foot and a half different curb to curb. Not much of a difference. I could feel the difference for the first couple thousand miles of driving but have gotten used to it and don't think it will be a factor. I like the extra room, the clearance from cab to camper while turning and I will not be going back to a short box! Besides a long box pickup really looks BADASS!
