8.8 spline count

hey guys

im going to have my mechanic install a sure grip (or whatever ford called it) into my bronco but i need to know what spline count i have

the truck is an 87 bronco, with a 351, and 8.8 with 3.55 gears (option 19 on the door tag)

is there any way to tell if i have a 28 or 31 spline count axle? (short of ripping it apart)

thanks guys

31 spline.

are you talking about a limited slip? get a detroit tru-trac, they hold up very well and are worth the money. What size tires are you running?

yes, limited slip

the bronco is mostly my plow rig, but i often times go plow right after dropping the kids off at school (and i dont only plow my driveway) so it sees a lot of street action

long story short, i dont want to put a spool in it

the detroit tru trac isnt a spool. its a strong limited slip that doesnt wear out. vs the stock ford type that will fail and chew up the rear end, Been there done that!
