My 97 is in the shop for some warranty work on the front drivers hub. (auto). I always thought I had a Dana 50 TTB, but they are saying it’s a Dana 44.
Problem is the half moon lock key is mangled and of course it is no longer manufactured. They tried a few local drivetrain specialists in the Austin area and no luck. They had to go to eBay. Problem is the part won’t come in until next week. He said if I can find the part and get it earlier, they would pay for it.
My question is can they be interchangeable? Will the spindle lock nut for a Dana 50/60 work on a Dana 44? Where I found it can have it here by the 17th as opposed to the 22nd, but I’d hate to order it, or not for and them not reimburse me (rightfully so), and out longer.
If you have an f250 it is the Dana 50. Idk if the two clips interchange. The last time I ran int this I took a long Allen key, heated it and bent it to shape. It worked fine and is still working fine. Obviously since you have a warranty claim you would want the exact part but it’s not hard to make.
