What's It Worth? Input Needed.....

Hey Guys, would like your input on the value of this 56 truck. I need to sell it and want to list it at a fair price but am unsure of the market value. It ran when it was parked here years ago but the carburetor was taken off at that time. Not sure what it may need now after sitting in the elements for years and don't have the time to put into it. Otherwise it's in pretty fair condition. Nothing wrong with it aside from the rust that you can see and a crack in the driver's side window. Thoughts on a list price?

Nice looking truck.

Biggest thing that seems to effect what it's worth is where you're located. I've seen a truck similiar to the one I bought selling for 10 times here than what I paid in a different state.

Your profile says you're out here in WA, which is good since this is where things seem to sell higher.

This guy wants $9k for his:

This guy wants $1200 with no bed and isn't a 56 (which is a 1 off year and highly sought after)

I've seen F600s for sale around $3000-9000 out here... I didn't pay anywhere near that elsewhere. As far as narrowing down a price, things are a bit all over the place out here. If I saw it posted for $3500 it wouldn't stand out to me. Weather or not these things are selling on the other hand is the question. You should be able to get at least around $2000 for it. A hipster might pay $6000. If it was driving $5000 wouldn't seem out of line based off what I've loosely seen.

So I guess pick a price around that, it's a rough time to sell so that's going to make it harder to gauge interest for the price. If nothing else take what you paid for it and adjust for inflation and try that. It's got a nice patina to it and a flat bed, again if I saw it for $3500 around here I wouldn't think much on that, but there again I usually just laugh when I see trucks similar to what I bought mine for but with an extra 0 in the price tag out here.

So I guess my ballpark is $3500. But I could be way off of what's actually selling.

Unless you post some details about the truck, I doubt anyone can give you much help on value.

You say the carb is off. I hope the manifold is not open. I hope a rag or a board is covering it or you could have a nice mouse nest in it.

I paid 150 for this one a couple months ago.
Has some rust and not quite as decent looking as yours.
Big farm trucks don't really have the same demand as an f1 or an f100 would.
Sad to say a lot of them end up as parts trucks or cab and clip.

Location. As stated plays a big part in how much you can get for it.
Btw
I'm in Salt Lake City
Good luck with it.
Looks like your having winter weather, it was about 46 today and sunny...

The truck looks fairly solid but the status of the engine may have a big effect on price. If the carb is off and the manifold has been left open then its possible that critters have nested in there.
If you had the time to bolt a carb on and make it run it would be worth more. Even if you didn't have time to do that then just checking to see if the engine wasn't locked up would help a bunch.

The bigger trucks don't seem to bring as much as the half tons.
Good luck

Bobby

$1000.00.

The heavy trucks just aren’t worth as much as the 1/2 tons.
i see a lot of them sell for scrap price, which isnt much.
It looks to be in OK shape. I like the big trucks, but I’m one of
the few.
What size is it?Do you have the chrome badges for it?Title?

Good luck with the sale.

I bought my dually F350/V8/4 sp about 12 yrs ago for $1,050 after waiting for the price to drop from $5,000. It wasn`t running but did the yr before and it fired right up after a bit of minor tinkering. It has a touch of rust, runs and drives ok, came with mostly new rubber, brakes work. I occasionally use it to water my trees in dry times.

I like the look of this green 350 truck, but wonder how the frame and running gear is after setting on bare ground for so long? the $1,000 seem in the ball park. That is the patina folks are looking for and the faded name on the door is awesome!
Its on the other side of the world from me!
Good luck. I think you will sell it!
Regards,
Chris

I sold one in similar condition this fall on eBay for $550. So after eBay and PayPal took their cut, I got a little over $300 and a few parts for the panel truck. I've been offered a couple more cheap or free since then, as a lot of people can't load or store a grain truck, thus the pretty low demand. I'd say if you can get anything over the 500 mark to take it.
