1999 battery cable replacement
I need to put on both battery cables,,,,old owner has cut off factory ends and replaced with cheap battery terminals ends,,,,,do I have to remove all the old cable or can i just run my new cable following the old,,,,never done this before,,,guess i need to have a look in my wiring link,,,,but just hoping someone has done this and can give me a few pointers on does and do nots

on my 99 2.5 i got new ends and crimp on connectors all at the local walmarts and redone it from the lead type clamps,,, got a tube of dielectric grease and coated and filled all the crimped connections and coated the connections that bolt together,,,,
