1997 E4OD Issues

Bought a 1997 f250 7.3 E4OD trans.

Transmission will barely pull at around 2500rpm. I mean will move the truck an inch or two. Also it still tries to move forward while in reverse and neutral. Any ideas on that to look for in the trans, or any other possibilities.

I'd look for another transmission. Running it at 2500 RPM while it is slipping has made sure this transmission is destroyed.

Is that just clutches welded together or would that it tryed to move forward in N and Reverse indicating other issues

I think the forward is welded, some others are probably damaged, too.

Where in the world are you? Is your truck 2WD or 4WD?

My old E4OD isn't perfect, but it works a lot better than what you describe.

You can have it if you're close enough to pick it up.
