Nimrod - I figured it out yesterday. Make sure you have all of the doors CLOSED and all of the fobs in your lap. Then follow the directions in the manual for the "Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key". These direction are located int eh "Security" section of the owners manual.

Thanks! That narrows it down a bit.
P.S. I looked at that section and now think I do use the first procedure. Mine is a flip key remote start. I don't have a push button start on dash.
Update: Got mine cut today and was able to program it outside the locksmiths. Took me two tries because there are two positions in the Off to On flip. I think on the first try I didn't get to the second position on with one of the flips. Screen actually posted a message after second programmed key was taken that is was ready to program. After the unprogrammed FOB was programmed got a message it was complete.
Does anybody know if a non-fob, chipped key be waterproof? I need a key I can take in the ocean, and would like to avoid having to deal with the alarm going off from using a non-chipped key.

If you have a key with a battery I am pretty sure it isn't waterproof. It would just snap together and not sure you want to put that in water. If I take things on the water I don't want to get wet I will put it in a waterproof box or ziploc bag. Plano makes all size boxes.
Im not sure you can use a non-chip key on a system that has a chipped key.
A waterproof box or ziploc isn't an option for me. My thinking was that if the "chip" is just an RFID then its a passive system and not powered and as long as the chip is sealed up it would be fine.
Update- my local locksmith lazer-cut a no-chip, mechanical key for about $35. I wish the tailgate had a keyhole, and that you could unlock/lock all doors using the mechanical key in the keyhole on the driver's side.
I bought a spare key fob with a blank internal key for my 2017 F350 off Ebay for $69.00.
Yesterday I took it to my local Ford dealer in Torrance, Ca and they cut the new key for only $5.00.
