I still occasionally receive the fake Amazon gift card message but only while viewing the mobile site on my iPhone. Never have a problem when viewing the full site on a normal computer.
I have had it happen many times to me on the mobile app. I have found that hitting the back button will then allow you to close the pop up and continue reading.
I haven't had that happen. I use Ad Block Plus, but I'm also a paid up FTE member.
I’m willing to pay FTE. How do I do that? This does happen to me 5-6 times a day( even with Adblock). But I have found that if I delete thehighlighted address at top and then at the bottom left, hit <, it goes back to the previous FTE page without having to start all over if that makes sense.

It's definitely only on the mobile version of the website. I had it a bunch a year ago but then it went away. It just started up hot and heavy again this month. Way more than before. If anyone hasn't seen it:
